Hi all!, long time lurker on the old forum.  Never had to post as all my questions were answered in time.  Now, I have a problem that I seem to remember seeing on the old board.  My volume buttons have stopped working (Mute too).  I have not loaded any new drivers (that I know of) and have only updated my Zone Alarm Firewall.  Has anybody else come across this type of problem?

I'm not sure what the problem is, but I can say that the buttons require nothing special to control the volume of the system.  For my laptop, as soon as I install a sound driver (the one from Windows Update), the buttons work.  They do not have an OSD, but using Microsoft Intellitype fixes that problem.  I would try Intellitype as a tester since it seems to take over all control of the special buttons (Play, Stop, Fwd, Rev, Vol Up, Vol Down, Mute).  As for another fix, I'm really not sure.  I know that they work perfectly on a clean install, but beyond that I really can't help.  Maybe someone else will have the solution.
