Hi all.

I've had my Presario X1000 laptop for just over 2.5 years now, and surprisingly, it is still running. The problem is though, that I just formatted the hard drive yesterday (which I've done several times; a clean start is good sometimes) but now, for some reason the USB ports are not working. Whenever I try plugging a device in, it doesn't even recognize that a device has been plugged in. I've had a look at the device manager, and it says that the drivers are not installed for the USB controller. Does anyone know how to fix this? It's obviously quite a big problem, since I need to connect stuff like my mouse, or my portable music player and my cell phone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

That's odd.  Since you just re-installed, perhaps you should try re-installing again.
