my x1439 laptop has the folowing specs
1.6 Mhz Centrino
9800 ATI Radeon
running windows XP home
Recently my all my usb ports stopped responding. On windows device manager it shows the USB drivers are all working fine. When I plugged in a device (eg . mouse) the mouse light lights up indicating its powerd up, but windows fails to recongnise the mouse has been plugged in to the sysem.
I tried booting up with knoppix, but it also fails to identify any usb ports under hotplug. :(
does this mean that my usb ports on the motherboard are gone? and il have to replace the motherboard to get usb functionality again?
is there any otherway to see if the usb hardware is working fine?
please help...
