Hi Mal,
and sorry for late answer. I don't check this forum very often any more. Mine nx7010 is also still running fine!

go to the Intel site and do a search for 2200 bg drivers (they aren't in direct list any more). Drivers are 9.1.1.5 for Vista and Proset app ver. s 11.5.1.2 (latest)

They work fine for me.

So, it is still unclear.

When you select update driver, then manually...

- Select bottom choice (browse my computer..)
- Untick "show only compatible hardware".
- Now you can select Mobility Radeon 9000. It's the same card as 9200.

Very strange. Obviously hardware is recognised OK, as it allows disc to be formated and files copied to it. There are problems with writing boot sector. But HP doesn't have any protection in BIOS, or does it?

I had some problems with my Samsung at first. After it has been checked in bios (option check disk), everything was OK.

Try making a smaller partition.

About question 1) Just follow the steps from Mr. Cin - update manually.
You could also try with HP drivers for nc4000 and install drivers for Radeon mobility 9000 - it is the same card as ours.

This is the link for SP31674.

Hi Mr Cin!
Good to see someone still using this machines (my nx7010 is still running good enough to keep me from buying new notebook!).
Great find - these Asus drivers, but I think they are the same as Omega 5.6 or SP that I mentioned in 3rd post.

Nice work with this walkthrough - it is basically the same as my few lines. But it has been described before for Vista, so I didn't bother to do it again. Sorry if it was misleading in any way.

I would reply before, but someone banned me from internet... ;-)

Have a nice day

I guess You should check any connection that could be loosed when notebook was opened.

But it could be anything really.

Sorry for late reply..

Yes, I did a fresh install in separate partition. As a matter of fact, I replaced my Vista installation and keep XP, which I use for compatibility reasons.

And no, no compatibility warnings. Just like installing Vista.

As in Vista, you can choose between Omega 5.6 or similar package. I use SP31674 - drivers for nc4000. Don't really know if they are older, but they work fine. I used manual update and point the folder... Oh, and uncheck only compatible hardware - as I pick mobility radeon 9000.

I am not interested in games. Last thing I played on this machine was one NFS, but don't remember which one...

General / Windows 7 on nx7010 (x1000)

Hi to all!

Few months without a new post... There isn't much of traffic about these machines anymore.
For anybody to know: I have put Windows 7 (7077) on my nx7010 and it actually runs quite good. An usual problem with graphic driver (similar to Vistas), otherwise no problem.
Returning from hibernation is now very quick. In Vista sometimes takes forewer.

Hm, I don't see any drive bigger than WD 250 for IDE. It should works fine, just don't buy SATA drives ;-)

I've upgraded my nx7010 with 1GB MDT 333 MHz chip. Runs great.
I guess any 333 MHz module will run. Kingston should be fine.

Technical Issues / Re: Windows Vista on Presario X1000
December 25, 2007, 07:12:08 AM
I'm currently running drivers for nc4000 (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=321835&prodNameId=321837&swEnvOID=1093&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=PSG_I23133-108006.
It's the only driver that lets me put nx7010 in sleep, hibernation and use external projector, TV and rest.
I have better experience with them than with Omega or drivers for x1000.

Unpack and upgrade driver manually - from computer management.

Wish you good luck.

Technical Issues / Re: DVI with port replicator

Graphic card doesn't have dvi output. Port replicator is capable of DVI throughput, if notebook has this capability.

So, quit trying :)
