Upgrades and Accessories / Re: Just upgraded to Dothan
August 31, 2008, 11:54:53 PM
Yeah thanks for this forum, I was able to upgrade my 1.3GHz Banias (stock) to a 1.6 GHz Dothan. But my x1000 gets kinda hot. ~53 degC when idle.. and reaches 70-75 degC during cpu intensive applications are running even though I already cleaned the fan (it was really dusty... a wall of dust already accumulated) and the heat sink.

I was able to do this as well. I'm now using Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG.. I was able to bypass the whitelist by flashing modified bios and by disabling the CRC check from the windows hp flash utiliy. :p

I changed my dvdrom drive and replaced it with a dvd-rw drive that I got from an old toshiba laptop. The problem is that it wont boot from the dvd drive.. bios wont recognize it. But when I put back the old one, I can boot from the dvdrom drive. I noticed that if Im using the old one, it uses location 0 (from device manager) but if I use the new one, it uses location 1. Could that be the problem?
