Hiya!

The LCD screen of my Presario x1000 shows two colored vertical lines (red and blue). This, as i've come to understand, indicates the LCD's going bad, but, it still is usable. Just with two very thin lines showing.

I recently chanced upon a working LCD from a friend, taken out from his laptop. The mobo died.

Anyhoo, the LCD is a Samsung LTN154XB-L01, which boasts the same specs as the original LG-Philips LP154W01 LCD that came with the x1000 (screen size, resolution, number of pins, etc), minus one point: The Samsung LTN154XB-L01 has 2CCFL backlights, while the original only has one.

Will this work with the Presario x1000 with no issues?

If, say, the original inverter (1 CCFL power out) is used, and only one CCFL tube is plugged to the Samsung LTN154XB-L01, will this operate seamlessly?

My friend failed to give me the inverter with came with his laptop, a Viao. And, though I'm sure about the input pins of the Samsung LCD, i'm not sure if  its GPU to LCD male/female socket connector is the same with the Presario.

Does anyone have any experience in something related to this?

Technical Issues / Battery Not Charging
August 31, 2008, 01:37:36 AM
Given that this unit's about five years old, its understandable that its battery no longer holds a charge. My question is if its safe to keep it in the unit while its on or not.

Its like, once i turn the unit on, it indicates that its charging the battery... then a few seconds after, the charging led just turns off by itself.

Is this normal? Expected of a dying battery?

Technical Issues / LCD Backlight Problem
August 08, 2008, 09:14:41 AM
Good day...

I hope someone out there gets to read this.

My problem with my x1000 is the backlight lcd. It just turns off by itself. Tapping on the rubber switch turns it back on again. Sometimes the backlight stays on through and through my usage, sometimes it stays on for only a few seconds. Its getting more and more frequent, and i'd like to know if anyone knows how to fix this problem before it gets any worse.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
