Upgrades and Accessories / Upgrading rams

yesterday i tried to hang out at one of the town called iron forge. at the auction house where there were lots of people. my pc was processing very slow.

First i could see only shadows on the floor. Then one by one people start appearing.

Sometimes its would freeze for 30secs because of heavy loading.

My connection however is quite good.

So what might it be.. rams? processing power? or the graphic card?

Upgrades and Accessories / Upgrading rams

I was thinking of upgrading my rams one of these days.

My current setup is 256mb + 256mb 333mhz

Since I'm gonna start playing WoW soon, I thought of bumpin the memory up to at least 1gig.

First option: Remain 1 slot for the current 256mb ram and swap the other for 1gig of ram. Cost: USD130 (Conversion from MYR to USD)

Second option: Swap the 2 slot with 512rams each. The cost would be around USD110 as well.

Third option: Swap the 2 slot each with 512mb DDR2 533mhz ram. The cost: USD160. However my notebook, nx7010 mobo only has the bus speed up to 400mhz (i think..)  :(

I was thinking of going with the third option, but the thought of my 'weak' mobo is holding me back. Do you think its worth it?

If not.. which of the first 2 option would u go for?

Technical Issues / Keyboard - Does not detect
August 16, 2005, 01:27:35 AM
Sometimes when i power up my pc.. and it load to windows..

my keyboard does not function at all.. i press every button but nothing is inputed to the screen.

only solution is to restarting the pc. Sometimes i get the same problem twice in a row (after restarting). Even after reformating, the problem still persist.

Have any of you encounter the same problem i have?

Does anyone here knows how to fix this?

What I could think of is, the cable connection or something in the notebooke is loose.

Drivers / Re: Upgrading Video Drivers
August 16, 2005, 01:23:27 AM
Quote from: ganguyI am having  difficult time upgrading my video drivers to the latest Catalyst drivers from ATI.  I get a message saying it cannot find the INF file.

Any suggestions?

Thanks...Ron

I had the same problem. Try modding it to Radeon 9000 instead of 9200.

I have read some reports from other users that have done it this way too.

Drivers / Upgrading Video Drivers

nx7010 user here! :D

Tried Ati Catalyst  5.7 and that didnt work out. Got a black screen after windows were loaded.

I tried Omegadriver version of Catalyst 5.7 too and that didnt work out. Screen was all fuzzy.

Anyway I am wondering which would be the latest and most stable video driver up to date?

Catalyst 5.6?

If yes, which version should I download?
1. Classic/normal version?
2. or the one with the Control Center?

How bout the omega drivers based on the 5.6 version?
