Title: General linux question not specific to x1000
Post by: thedrake on June 29, 2006, 09:09:52 AM
I just installed the latest version of Mandriva (2006.0)

When it gets to the boot manager, it shows the following choices:

linux-i686-up-4GB
linux
linux-nonfb
failsafe
windows

Now, I understand all of them except the first one.  What is "linux-i686-up-4GB" versus the "linux" choice?  I googled, but didn't see any explanation of it.

Use this kernel if you have 2-4GB of RAM.
