Title: Hard Drive Upgrades
Post by: jurgestonian on June 16, 2006, 08:43:44 AM
Hello

I have a hp ZT3280US. 80gb HDD, 1gb 2700 RAM, DVD+RW CDRW Drive

I have decided to upgrade my hdd. I currently have a 80gb toshiba drive, that runs at 4200RPM. I bought a 100gb Seagate 5400.b drive to replace it. The HDD came with a macally USB/Firewire enclosure.  I am wondering what are my best options in moving my data from the 80gb to the 100gb. I currently boot into Bootmagic and from there I can go into an XP or an Knoppix/Debian partition. I want to keep my ability to boot after the ghost/copy/clone. I am currenly using about 60gb on my drive with different partitions.

My lappy is particular about booting. It will not boot if I have a flash drive in the USB port, even though I choose to boot to the HDD when I first power on.
