This has happened to me twice now. I would close my laptop screen. Come back a few minutes later, open it up and the screen is blank.
The back light won't come back on. But I can still see the lcd display if i shine a light at it. The only way to get the back light back on is to change the screen resolution. My laptop is a ZT3000 btw, has anyone else had this happen to them?
same problem... any solutions?
I too have had a similar problem! Once in a while the screen will go almost blank, I can still sort of see the screen.
I have discovered that if I tap on the rubber button that turns off the display when the lid is closed, the one above the F1 key - the display will return to normal. This only happens maybe one or two times a month - I'm thinking maybe there is dirt or something gumming up the switch???
Hope this might help you guys with your problem!
been an on going problem for me. You can try the patch on the HP support site for the X1000, it hasn't really helped. Gotta always hold power to shut it off.

Above is the supposed fix. Doesn't work for me.
I run the newest OMEGA drivers for the X1000. Getting really frequent these days, not sure how to fix it.
