Upgrades and Accessories / x1000 CPU upgrade
September 05, 2007, 09:24:17 AM
Hi. I just replaced the cpu on my x1010AL from a 1.3 Banias to a 1.73 Dothan. The problem is that the system still reads the speed of the old cpu in the bios and in windows xp sp2. I updated to the latest bios on the Hp support site. Any clues why? I guess its a multiplier lock on the system and if it is, is there a bypass workaround? Thanks in advance.
