Anyone know if it is possible to read a fat32 formatted sd card in the built in card reader?  I have searched the net but not found anything helpful.  I imagine a new driver would work but I can't seem to find one newer than '03.

I am trying to read a 4gb SD card in the slot.  If this doesn't work I'll be looking for a PCMCIA solution.

Thanks.

The internal SD card reader is a total dog!  It's connection assures you the absolute slowest in speeds.  Further, the PC-CARD (long ago known as PCMCIA) slot is also speed hampered and makes a terrible choice for a card reader.

There really is onlyone choice if you care about speed, and that's USB 2.0 Hi-Speed.

As for newer Winbond drivers, they don't appear to exist.

FYI - I found a solution that works and is even faster than USB 2.0 or Firewire.  The Delkin CardBus SD card reader fits into the PCMCIA slot, reads the 4gb SD card perfectly and is super fast.
