My X1000 is having some boot problems recently and I wondered if anyone else had experienced the same thing and would offer some advice. When I try to start the machine it will start to boot and then just die right before it goes to the Windows XP screen.  It doesn't always respond to the power button like I think it should, but it's been doing that for a while now.  I have to push it numerous times to get it to start, then it dies!  It runs fine when I get it going, but I dread shutting the system down.  It could be a problem with the motherboard, I suppose.  Or it could have something to do with the new wireless mouse I got the other day.  I noticed that it restarted first try when I took the USB reciever out.  Maybe it doesn't like my mouse?  Any help would be appreciated.  Also, while we are on the subject, every now and then then my keyboard will just stop working and I have to reboot to get it going again.  Any ideas there?

same thing.  Just upgraded to Centrino 2.0Ghz.  Hard drive stops working as soon as starts load Windows.
F10 button works at the beginning.  Access to BIOS ok, checking the hard drive and it can not access.
H Drive was working OK before the upgrade.

I guess You should check any connection that could be loosed when notebook was opened.

But it could be anything really.

I've had almost a week to figure out the problem.
It is HP's ACPI system which screws customers up.
Like anything else HP does.
If the problem occurs, say goodbye to your files on a hard drive unless those were backed.  Insert Windows operating system CD and press F7 when the system asks you if you want to press F6.
The system interrupts you with blue screen showing various ACPI codes.  You have repeat it few times. Until the installation starts.
Even when installation starts it may interrupt with ACPI errors again.  Keep reinstalling it. You will finally reinstall operating system.
Never ever buy anything of HP again.
Poor BIOS, lousy service, cheap products.
